General: You need B-LICENSE driving a regular passenger car, van or similar vehicle. Traficom issues the license when you have completed the education required and passed the theory exam and the driving exam. Lahden Seudun Autokoulu driving school will give all driving lessons with a real passenger car except the night driving lesson which is carried out in a car simulator. All the theory lessons are in class face-to-face lessons given by a experienced driving school teacher.
The total number of the driving lessons needed to pass the driving exam depends on your personal skills, technical and theoretical readiness, and earlier experience in driving a motored vehicle. All kind of prior experience on driving a motored vehicle such as a moped car is beneficial and will help you to attain the skill level needed to pass the driving exam. The total number driving lessons needed and the contents of the driving lessons are designed to match the best your individual learning style and the skill level. The more you train the driving with an experienced driving school teacher, the better you will be prepared for the future as an independent driver. You can buy as many extra driving lessons as you wish to reach the level of confidence that you are ready for the driving exam. Most students take at least few extra driving lessons.
Age limits: You may begin the B-LICENSE course and driving lessons in the age of 16. You may apply for the driving license permit in the age of 16. Duration: Each student is given an individual study plan. Typically, it takes four to eight weeks to complete the course.
Course description: The teaching comprises the EAS Course, driving lessons, and Risk Management Course. The EAS Course comprises four theory lessons and focuses on the basics of the traffic environment. The EAS Course is compulsory for everyone who are carrying out their first Finnish driving license. If you have a Finnish driving license in any other category beforehand, you can dismiss the EAS course. An informative lesson is recommended to all previous driving license holders. The minimum of ten driving lessons is required by legislation, however Lahden Seudun Autokoulu driving school offer 15 driving lesson premium teaching packages. The Risk Management Course comprises four theory lessons and four driving lessons. The lessons focus on the risks in the urban traffic environment, the highway traffic environment, the slippery road environment, and the night traffic environment (dusk, dark and night time). The first three of these are given with a real passenger car, the last is carried out in the car simulator.
Requirements: You need to apply the driving license permit for the B-LICENSE. Traficom issues the permit. It is recommended that you apply for the permit as soon as you begin the studies in the driving school. The driving school office will help you to fill in the form and to submit it to Traficom. The EAS Course must be completed before you begin your driving lessons. The driving school will give you a certificate of a completed course E100. The certificate is needed when you enter the theory exam and the driving exam. Risk Management Course must be completed before you enter the driving exam.

RISK MANAGEMENT COURSE FOR TEMPORARY DRIVING LICENSE HOLDERS
General: Temporary driving license holders must carry out the Risk Management Course within two years of time calculated from the date the driving license was issued and if the driving license was issued 30.6.2018 on the latest. The Risk Management Course replaces the second phase and the third phases courses previously in use. The certificate of a completed course is delivered to the Ajovarma office. The office locates at the Vehicle Inspection Office, address Katsastajankatu 12, Lahti.
Course description: The Risk Management Course comprises four theory lessons and four driving lessons including slippery track driving lesson and night-time driving lesson. The theory lessons are organized every second week. The driving lessons are organized every day. Slippery track driving lessons are organized every Tuesday and Thursday. All driving lessons are given with a real passenger car except the night-time driving lesson which is carried out in a car simulator.
